SEVEN WILD SISTERS is an original novella written by award winning author Charles de Lint with a painted cover and 21 interior illustrations by me. It is available now in a beautiful (and inexpensive) signed and numbered, hardcover edition from Subterranean Press. For more information and a look at some of the interior art follow this link.

THE GREEN MAN, TALES FROM THE MYSTIC FOREST is an anthology of short stories and poems edited by award winning team of Terri Windling and Ellen Datlow, with writing by Neil Gaiman, Charles de Lint, Jane Yolen, Delia Sherman, Emma Bull as well as many others. The book also features my painted cover as well as 18 small b/w illustrations. It will be published by Viking and can be found in the YA (Young Adult) section of your local bookstore in May. I was really excited to be asked to participate in this project. Not only because of my obvious affinity for the subject matter at hand but also because Terri and Ellen are the premier anthologists in the fantasy and horror genre AND the book will be my first project that will be primarily released into mainstream bookstores.

INTO THE GREEN

Lately I have been developing a good rapport with art director Irene Gallo of Tor books. I'm now working on the third cover in a row for that publisher. Irene is a delight to work with and VERY receptive to off-the-wall suggestions on the design and layout of these covers. The first of these paintings, TAPPING THE DREAM TREE is for a collection of Newford stories by Charles de Lint, due out in Oct. of 2002 and DEEP SECRET is for a Diane Wynne Jones novel that is part of Tor's new YA line 'Starscape.' You may remember my painting, THE WHISPERING MOUNTAIN which was a cover for a book by Joan Aiken in this same YA line. Ive just completed the latest cover for SEVENTH SON by Orson Scott Card. You can view all of these images on the "NEW PAINTINGS" page by following this link.

In March of 2003 I was involved in designing and constructing a "Faerie" tree for Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle's Toys, a splendid toy store in downtown Tucson, AZ which every year has a Fairy Festival Celebration. The tree is a permanent installation and will be used to display toys as well as for storytellers to sit under and spin their enchanted tales for listeners both young and old. Click here for more information and lots of pretty pictures.

There are now six beautiful, limited edition prints available in the STARDUST BOXED SET series. You may use this link to find out more about this on-going project. Subscribers and newcomers alike please be advised that the next several images in the series will be entirely new paintings done exclusively for this boxed set and available nowhere else. I'm really looking forward to producing these new painting as there has always been a few places on in STARDUST that I've wanted to "fix". Now I have my chance.

BEAUTIFUL NEW PRINTS (15 OF THEM!)

There are a number of new, very high end, art prints of images that everyone has been asking for (THE UNQUIET GRAVE, THE CORN KING, etc) that are being offered through the fine folks at the POD Gallery in New York http://www.podgallery.com/index.cfm/hurl/msgId=408/action=artwork using the new Epson Roland printer with archival inks and paper. Completely lightfast and not at all susceptible to water damage (unlike the Iris or Glicee prints that have been around for awhile now...). These are large and quite beautifully printed and all the images have been personally color-proofed by myself.

I look forward to hearing what you think of these prints.

Many of you are not aware of a project that I designed which was commissioned by a local community college. THE JACK TALES WALL is a 30x50' brick sculpture (bas relief) based on the Appalachian Jack Tales indigenous to this region. Click here to see and read more about this project.

Beginning in 1995 I self-published four comics based on Scottish, Irish and English ballads. These adaptations were scripted by a host of very talented writers such as Sharyn McCrumb, Neil Gaiman, Charles de Lint, etc. and all drawn by me. It is an on-going project with about 80 more art pages to be produced. Click here to find out more.
